Every withdrawal email works out of the box with a default text. You only need this article to change the wording, match your store's tone, or send emails in more languages. Everything happens in Withdrawal › Emails.
Each email has a main text in your default email language, labelled Default text until you change it and Customized after. You can add translations for other languages; any language without one gets your main text.
In Withdrawal › Emails, pick the email in the Email list, for example Withdrawal received. The line under it says when it's sent.
Edit the three fields:
Subject: one line, up to 200 characters.
HTML version: what most email apps show. Basic formatting, tables, https and mailto links, and https images.
Plain text version: for email apps that don't show HTML. Keep it in line with the HTML version.
Add placeholders where you want the real values. Click in a field, then click a placeholder such as {{order_number}}: it's added where your cursor is. We replace it with the real value when the email is sent.
Click Save in the bar at the top. Save stays disabled while the editor lists something to fix. Some placeholders are required, and must be in both the HTML and plain text versions. The editor lists them under the placeholders, for example the reference, order number, date and items in Withdrawal received. To go back to the original wording, click Reset to default. Your own text for that language is deleted.
Click Send test email and choose Send to the Reply-To address or Send to alert recipients. The test uses sample data, and includes your unsaved changes so you can check them before saving. It can take a few minutes to arrive.
Tests only go to verified addresses, and you can send up to 10 per hour.
Customers get each email in the language they used on your store. If that email has no translation for it, Complimus uses, in order: your default email language, then English. Under your main text, Translations lists your store's published languages with a badge: Translated or Not translated.
Click Translate next to a language. A window opens with the same three fields, prefilled with Complimus's built-in text when there is one.
Edit the subject and both versions. The same required placeholders apply.
Click Save. The translation is used for that language from the next email. To change a translation, click Edit. To stop using it, click Remove: that language goes back to the built-in text, or your main text. For a language your store doesn't publish, use Translate into another language.
Your default language is in your Default email language, set in Withdrawal › Settings › Language. It's also the language for customers whose language has no translation. By default when you installed the app, this is English.
If you pick a language some emails aren't written in yet, the settings page lists them. Those emails keep going out in English until you translate them, even with that language as your default.
